Minutes of 3/18/07 Meeting

 

  1. Slate of Officers – all three will need to be replaced.

      The following names were placed in consideration for the above positions
          1. President - Jake Kenney, Wes Marble, Darren Millman
          2. VP - Jake Kenney, Wes Marble, Darren Millman
      Other names will be solicited

  1. 2007 November Clinic :
            It was agreed that we will have four speakers and continue conversation with the following     

                Keith Bugbee – Springfield College
                Dom Starsia – UVA 
                Brian Voelker -   U Penn
                Jake Reed - Dulaney HS MD
                Topics desired: Building a Program, Man Up, Developing the good player into a great player; making riding and clearing a fun part of practice!

  1. Scouting/Filming: Membership voted to approve the acceptance of the MHSAA standards for filming and scouting opponents 

    4.  Out of season opportunities  - Discussed issue of a summer tournament at Farmington - a survey needed - Mike Cahill to explore. Also discussed issues of satellite sites for the US Lacrosse 7on 7 Tournament - jmk will explore

  1. Hall of Fame – Mike Costello gave update as to philosophy and scope - a lcopy of proposal will be sent out in an email
  2. Promotion of the game – a letter from association will be sent to any and all local newspapers reminding them of coverage of our sport. We will a  straw poll ( with regional representation) to post on MLive
  3. Meeting attendance - still low; proposed and accepted a provision beginning in 2008 - you must attend both the March meeting ( or send a rep) and the June Meeting ( dates to be set; First Sunday after 1st week of Practice and the Sunday after the Championship game). Failure to have a rep attend will necessitate  a warning and failure to attend the next year will cause member in good standing to be jeopardized and a forfeiture of  all state nomination privileges.
  4. Discussed and approved : to open service awards to all coaches 9-12 not just varsity head coaches.
  5. Next Meeting: June 10, 2007   at Okemos at 2 p.m.
